What is microdermabrasion?

The SkinBase™ Facial microdermabrasion treatment uses a stream of non-allergenic crystals to remove your skin’s outermost layers of dead cells. Your therapist will use the handset to direct the stream of crystal over the treatment area and, where necessary, target specific zones. The handset then uses a mild suction to draw away the crystal and skin debris to reveal your new and improved complexion.

The SkinBase™ Facial is chemical free and non-invasive yet achieves amazing results revealing younger, healthier looking skin from the very first treatment. The skin’s appearance is further improved through increased collagen & elastin production as your body produces a new layer of skin.

Using the powerful effect of water through water jets, a hydrodermabrasion treatment targets the outer layer of skin to exfoliate and reveal a smoother, more even texture. Known as the “celebrity facial,” hydrodermabrasion is the latest and greatest way to remove dead cells from the skin to eliminate dark spots and hyperpigmentation. With less pain and irritation than the traditional diamond-tipped treatment, this new technology uses water and oxygen to effortlessly exfoliate the skin. Its no wonder the treatment is reportedly a favorite of celebrity stunners like Charlize Theron.

The benefits of hydrodermabrasion using this technology can include freshening the appearance and texture of the skin, as well as increasing the absorption and penetration of active ingredients into the skin. A hydrodermabrasion facial can even be ideal for rejuvenating the skin for one-off special events such as weddings. The treatment can also be combined with other peel and laser treatments as part of a complete skincare regime.

The treatment tightens, tones and lifts achieving firm, youthful looking skin – without the telltale frozen stares and ‘puffed up’ look associated with injectables and fillers.

Growing numbers of the rich and famous (including Kylie, Amanda Holden, Kim Kardashian and Mel B) are choosing non-surgical radio frequency technology over traditional more invasive treatments for a more natural yet VERY effective solution to tackle the signs of ageing and retain a youthful appearance for longer. Collagen Lift ™ harnesses radio frequency technology to deliver great long lasting results.

Radio frequency technology is highly effective for skin tightening and firming loose or sagging skin. This makes Collagen Lift ideal for those who either don’t want, or don’t believe they are old enough for surgical procedures. Some injectables paralyse the muscle to improve the appearance of wrinkles and plump out the skin.

Collagen Lift clients can look forward to increased muscle tone, a more defined jaw line and diminished fine lines thanks to the tightening effect from a natural realignment of the tissues. Results from a course of Collagen Lift are instant. Tightening of the elastin fibres occurs immediately, giving an instant visible result. Over the medium term, benefit from increased collagen production for up to 3 months after your course has been completed. Long term, results can last up to 2 years.

What is PRP?

Platelet Rich Plasma, or PRP as it is more commonly known, has been used increasingly in aesthetic medicine for the past few years. Platelets form one of the cellular components of blood and they contain a high content of “growth factors” – proteins that help to heal injured tissue or damaged skin. The theory is, by placing platelets in tissues that require repair and regeneration, this will lead to the repair and regeneration of these tissues. Aged tissues will be rejuvenated as part of this process.

What dose the treatment involve?

The treatment involves taking a sample of your blood and harvesting the platelets from the patient’s own blood in order to inject them into problem skin areas, starting with the extraction of a minimal amount of the patient’s blood. This is then placed in a centrifuge to spin down the blood which separates the red blood cells from the platelet rich plasma. Upon re-injection the platelets release their growth factors which trigger surrounding cells to proliferate, in turn stimulating repair, increasing volume and rejuvenating the skin.

What can PRP treat?

Platelet Rich Plasma Therapy can be used to treat numerous cosmetic problems, such as:

• fine lines and wrinkles or mild drooping or sagging skin around the eyes, mouth and cheeks
• dark under eye circles
• to improve the appearance of dehydrated or mildly sagging skin on the face, backs of the hands, on the tops of the feet, elbows and knees.
• It can be used all over the body
• To treat acne scarring
• To improve hair growth, especially in balding men

How many treatments will I require?

Generally, you need three treatments over a three month period. This can then be maintained by having a top-up treatment every 6 – 12 months.
