Swedish Body Massage

Swedish massage is the most common and best-known type of massage in the West. If it’s your first time or you don’t get massage often, Swedish massage is the best place to start. The Swedish body massage is the combination of many different techniques rolled into one session. During this therapy session the therapist will work with the soft tissues and muscles in the body to help restore balance and health.

The end result will relax all of the muscles in your body and to release any pain that tension may exist. A Swedish body massage is the perfect way for anyone who is overly worked and stressed out to relax their body and mind. By relieving muscle tension, Swedish therapy can be both relaxing and energizing. And it may even help after an injury.

Hot Stone Massage

If you’re looking for a stress-busting treatment designed to relax and unwind, there’s nothing better than a hot stone massage. Popular for its ability to soothe both mind and body, the hot stone massage uses a combination of gentle oils and natural stones in a bid to ease muscle tension, improve circulation and promote wellbeing. Bliss has never sounded so good…

Hot stone massage is an ancient practice dating back thousands of years, and involves the use of flat, heated stones (basalt stones) that your massage therapist places on key spots across your body. These special areas are said to control your body’s energy flow and when recharged can help to rebalance body and soul. Why not experience the healing benefits of this deeply therapeutic treatment and get some chi on the go?

Indian Head Massage

Indian head massage, also known as champissage, is a treatment that focuses on massaging acupressure points along the head, neck, and shoulders, often using circular massage strokes to improve hair and scalp condition. It originates from an Indian alternative medicine system called Ayurveda, (translated as the ‘science of life’), whereby it is believed that the mind and body are intricately connected and thus can influence one another.

Through this theory, is is understood that Indian head massage can not only reduce headaches and improve physical well-being, but it can also improve mental and emotional wellness too. Indian head massage is an ancient therapeutic practice that has been used in India for over 5000 years, and requires no oils or equipment, making it a very accessible treatment, perfect for newcomers to massage. It is usually done while seated and through light clothing.

Reflexology

Reflexology is a non-invasive complementary health therapy that can be effective in promoting deep relaxation and wellbeing; by reducing stress in people’s lives can be key in optimising good health and building resilience. It is a touch therapy that is based on the theory that different points on the feet, lower leg, hands, face or ears correspond with different areas of the body and reflexologists work these points and areas.

Hopi Ear Candles

Also known as an ear cone, an ear candle is a thin, hollow tube of linen or muslin cloth, soaked in paraffin or beeswax and tapered at one end. Some are scented with herbs, honey, or aromatherapy oils. The heat from the flame melts and loosens the ear wax and creates negative pressure that ‘sucks’ the wax into the candle. This is referred to as the ‘chimney effect’.
